I find writing bios a hard exercise as I want to be able to share relevant info about myself and present my real self but I often find I am rehashing my resume or appear as if I have no personality. So with all that in mind, I am going to try and present myself as real as I can and sit with the discomfort of writing about myself. Here goes.....

All my qualifications and resume type information can be found on my ‘About Me’ page and the types of presentations and services I supervise on can be found on my ‘Therapy’ and ‘Autism Assessments’ page. So instead I am going to mainly focus on what kind of supervisor I am and strive to be:

  • My favourite phrase currently is 'Space and Grace' and in terms of supervision I like to think of that as giving you space to understand yourself and who you are as a therapist with me guiding you along the way and grace being showing kindness and compassion to you (and you showing kindness to yourself) as learning and growing as a therapist is no easy feat.

  • Doing what I say. I think it is important as a supervisor if I say I will email you resources or get back to you about admin tasks that I do exactly that. I pride myself on being efficient (most of the time).

  • Positive reinforcement. I love a supportive environment for growth and learning and so I really value being your cheerleader but also identifying any areas for growth or room for improvement.

  • I don't claim to know it all. I have not mastered all therapy modalities (or plan to) and if I don't know something I am comfortable to admit that and together explore the answer.

  • Coffee and cake. This my favourite combination and I try and incorporate both either to motivate or to reward myself!

I will also add that I love administering adult Autism assessments especially for late-diagnosed women. I pride myself on being a neuroaffirming clinician and I take a strength and interests based approach to assessments. I also mainly use ACT and CFT in my work.

Hopefully that has given you some indication of the type of supervisor I am. Please reach out by email if you think we will be a good fit.
